Language school

Academia Latina is a Colombian language center and was founded in May 2007. Since then we have welcomed many students. Academia Latina is a small, personal and professional language school located in Taganga, in the north of Colombia. Taganga is a great place to study Spanish.

Program

Academia Latina offers only private Spanish classes: professional and fun. The primary focus of Academia Latina is to provide high quality professional private Spanish tuition that enrich the student. All the Spanish instructions are private, one-on-one. The student is always directing the pace of the class. All classes are given outdoors.

What makes us unique?

Our language center is unique, because a percentage of your tuition is donated to charity. We work together with the local community and local foundations. We donate food, clothes, school materials, sport items and health support. So, by studying at Academia Latina you help the underprivileged children of Taganga and Santa Marta.

Teachers

All our teachers have excellent skills, an university education and are licensed for teaching. They also have experience guiding adults and speak some English. They are all Colombian natives and live in Taganga or Santa Marta.

To foster our professional and committed teachers, we train them well and provide them with up-to-date study material to make the Spanish tuition dynamic and interactive.

Volunteering

Academia Latina does not offer volunteering projects at the moment, but we can provide accurate information about volunteering options in Santa Marta and the costal region. Send us an message if you wish more information.

General information

All major credit cards accepted, no extra fee charged! Academia Latina is registered by the Chamber of Commerce in Santa Marta and has a Colombian tax number. Terms and Conditions are used by Academia Latina.

Due to very strict visa regulations in Colombia, we cannot promote our study program as formal education. Otherwise all our students need a special student visa, which is expensive and takes a lot of time and energy to purchase. Therefore we can only offer informal Spanish tuition, which means that we are not able to hand out certificates nor diplomas.
